Who we are

  • I am delighted to welcome you to the Oak Knoll Early Childhood Center website. My name is Mrs. Aherne and I am the Principal. Oak Knoll is re-opening as a school for Early Childhood and Kindergarten students effective with the 2018-2019 school year. We are continuing a rich tradition as Oak Knoll Elementary was built in 1957 and served Kindergarten through sixth grades for most of its history. The school building is undergoing a renovation so that we will be ready to open our doors for the next chapter of our history starting in August 2018!

Oak Knoll Early Childhood Center will have all of our Early Childhood programing for students aged 3 to 5 years old. Our Early Childhood Education (ECE) classes are for children that are eligible for special education services due to a disability and have Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Blended Preschool classes are for children with IEPs and for community students that are attending for their Preschool experience. The ARISE preschool is an at-risk preschool program for 3 to 5 years olds. All Kindergarten classes are located here with the only exception being the Dual Language Kindergarten class. That program is remaining at Three Oaks Elementary where the entire Dual Language Program is located. In addition to the foregoing classes, the Outpatient Speech Program will be located at Oak Knoll Early Childhood Center and it will also be the location for Preschool Screenings.

We have formed a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and invite you to check out opportunities to get involved and help support the students and staff by volunteering your time and talents. Check out the PTO tab on the website for more information.

The staff at Oak Knoll is excited to begin the new school year in a newly refurbished building and to begin to create new traditions and a culture of caring and learning for our youngest students. We (students and staff) will be voting on a new mascot and new school colors. I look forward to opening the Oak Knoll Early Childhood Center and meeting your child or children and beginning this time together. Please check back regularly for more updates and information. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
