Briargate

  • Welcome to Briargate School, home of the Tigers.  My name is Mr. Nass. I am the Principal at Briargate School.  Briargate is a wonderful neighborhood school with a very supportive community. Our school opened its doors in 1965 and currently houses about 350 students serving 1st through 5th grade.

For additional school or district information, feel free to visit our State Report Card at http://iirc.niu.edu/. Go to the site and then type Briargate School in the box and click Go. At this interactive site you will find information about our Illinois State Achievement Test results, a school profile, our student population, our teachers, and district financial status. We are proud of our students, our staff, and our community.

We have a very active Parent Teacher Organization. Our P.T.O. has monthly meetings, organizes many family events, provides school assemblies, and volunteers hundreds of hours each year in classrooms and at P.T.O. events such as the Book Fair, Science Fair, Fun Fair, and Daddy/Daughter Dance. The district has a volunteer system where community members can work at the schools with individuals or small groups of students and/or complete clerical tasks. We greatly appreciate the time and talent our volunteers donate each and every day!

We welcome visitors to our school. If you would like to visit Briargate, please call and arrange a time to visit. We can take you on a tour of the school, visit a classroom, and/or provide you with grade level curriculum information.
