Superintendent Message 

Welcome to Cary CCSD 26!  District 26 is an elementary district serving 2400 students from Preschool through 8^th grade.  As noted in the District 26 Mission & Vision, “The District 26 community committed to providing a nurturing atmosphere where our students have a desire to learn and develop as critical thinkers and innovative creators who contribute to the world with integrity and purposed beyond themselves.” 

During my 20 years in District 26, I have served as the Director of Special Services and more recently as the Assistant Superintendent for Special Services and Instruction prior to being named Interim Superintendent for the 2025-26 school year. It is an honor to work alongside our exceptional staff to serve the needs of all of our students in supporting each individual student’s growth and success as a learner.

We are fortunate in Cary to have a very active and engaged community, which is essential to building and maintaining a strong school system.  Community stakeholder input is valued as it allows us to work together to advocate for the needs of our students.  If you have any questions, concerns, good news or ideas that you would like to share, please feel free to contact me at jennifer.thomas@cary26.org.
