Preschool Census

2013-2014 Preschool Census and Kindergarten Registration

JANUARY 17, 2013 

Cary District 26 will be holding its annual Preschool Census and Kindergarten Registration on January 17, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the following location:

 v Three Oaks School – 1514 Three Oaks Road (Community Room)

 The registration site is open to all district parents regardless of neighborhood school of attendance.  Children do not need to accompany their parents to the census or registration.

 

Preschool Census

School districts are mandated by law to identify children ages birth-21 who may be in need of special educational services. District 26 asks all parents with children between the ages of birth-4 years to complete a preschool census questionnaire. The questionnaires are reviewed by District 26 professional staff to determine students who may be eligible for a screening. Children, age's birth through two years of age, will be referred to the Child and Family Connections Agency for screening. Screenings for children ages 3-4 are typically held the first Friday of the month and are conducted by Cary District 26 staff. Preschool screening provides an opportunity for staff to look at a child's development and to determine if there is a need for in-depth evaluation.
